These last 5 years have been so fun and humbling at the same time.

We are grateful for all the ways God has grown our ministry.

Today, January 15, we celebrate 5 years. On January 15, 2020 (right before covid!) we had our first board meeting that launched this amazing journey. I remember wonder what HGH would be like in 5 years, and now we know!

This is what our board members say about this journey. . .

Liz:

What Homes Giving Hope means to me is seeing the true Glory of God, doing what God commands and expressing love for God and others- HGH these past 5 years has given me the greatest gift of discipleship.

Meghan:

Homes Giving Hope means just what is says … hope! I remember listening to two young ladies discussing their desire after high school to both move into HGH at an open house. To see the hope they had and the excitement for a place they could look forward to was the moment I realized the impact HGH is having on this community. To hear what our residents accomplish through HGH is amazing. To see the community of friends and family they have built for themselves is inspiring as well. To be able to be a part of this growing community is humbling and an honor.

Heather:

Homes Giving Hope gives ME hope that those who are in an often forgotten about community have hope for their future. I love the independence our mission provides for both families and residents. Being partnered with board members and staff members with a passion and heart for those we serve is fulfilling to me. I can’t wait to see what doors God opens in the next 5 years!

Kay:

Homes Giving Hope has given me a purpose beyond myself and it has filled such a need in our community. I truly love our residents. I love seeing them step into life, grow in their confidence, and know that they have a place to belong. Our residents are the point of Homes Giving Hope! God’s faithfulness to our ministry brings such joy to my heart, I see God in a new way as I see the way He sees people with disabilities, His compassionate heart for those who He has created. And hearing families express what it has done in their lives and hearts to have their son/daughter have somewhere to live and belong, it just doesn’t get any better.

Kim:

Homes Giving Hope means “Community”. Personally and professionally, I have been blessed by being in community with my fellow board members. Everyone on the Board has dedication and determination to see our mission fulfilled while embracing and supporting one another. For the residents and their families, HGH is all about “Community”, providing connections for life-long support and friendships. For the HGH staff, enlisting same age peers as mentors further builds “Community” while expanding everyone’s circle of support.

The power of “Community” is clearly evident in the growth of our organization these first 5 years; in the services we provide and the growth witnessed in our residents; and in the continued investment of our volunteers and donors!

Laurie:

Witnessing the increasing engagement of our community of supporters, the addition of homes each year, and the growing skills of residents is truly inspiring. What an honor and absolute joy it has been to be a part of Homes Giving Hope. The future holds immense potential, and I’m eager to see what wonderful opportunities and experiences God has planned for HGH!

Sara:

Watching the seeds of God‘s prompting grow has been a gift my entire family has been blessed with. One of the most valuable things that has enriched my life is the opportunity for my kids to see the world outside of themselves. To love and be loved by a group of people who are often overlooked has brought so much meaning to my kids life and mine. Their identity has been molded and shaped by the growth of Homes Giving Hope and witnessing this as a mom is the true definition of joy.

Brian:

Homes Giving Hope gives me motivation to help those in need. It warms my heart to see our residents do life together. To watch the parents help their child move in and transition is so impactful. I love this ministry and thank God for the opportunity to serve. We have identified a need that is worldwide and I believe that we are taking down the walls of seclusion. Homes Giving Hope has blessed me personally with joy and gratitude. I am so excited to see what God will do in the next 5 years!!!

Allison:

Homes Giving Hope has been a huge part of my life these last 5 years! It has been a joy to watch new residents and families join with our mission over the years. Each individual is so special to us and we love hearing their stories and to watch them grow into these incredible people. Over the past 5 years I have worn many hats in how I serve with HGH and it is such an honor to have a seat at this table. To work with a group of dedicated people with so much love and compassion for this ministry is rare and special. Thank you for believing in us and this mission, thank you for helping us grow and be able to serve even more families! We give God all the glory for his faithfulness at Homes Giving Hope.

Kelley:

Being on the board of Homes Giving Hope has been an honor as we serve alongside other dedicated members, families, and individuals to provide housing with light support for adults with unique abilities. It is evident that HGH offers hope, encouragement, and a sense of belonging in hope of building a faith-filled community. Christ’s command to love God and love our neighbors is what HGH is doing and I feel privileged to be part of this community.

Dan:

HGH has been a huge blessing to me. It has been amazing to see God work through our ministry to help touch the lives of others. In helping others grow in their independence, it has helped me grow in my faith and in my walk with the Lord. I have seen his faithfulness in supporting our ministry and have seen how he has impacted the life of every person that comes in contact with the Homes Giving Hope family. I have grown so much personally in how to lead and steward a ministry. I am so excited to see how God will work in our ministry through the next 5 years!
